Deaths from Mesothelioma Continue to Increase
A report by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) suggests that deaths from malignant mesothelioma are increasing and will continue to increase over the coming years. The CDC report states that the total number of deaths from malignant mesothelioma increased 8.9% from 1999 to 2005, from 2,482 in 1999 to 2,704 in 2005. The report also estimates that well over a million construction and general industry workers in the United States are currently being potentially exposed to asbestos in the workplace.
